An IOT mobile app integrated with elevators

Elevator management is a profession in its own right. There, too, is the future: smart digitization. Because manually performing technical updates in elevators … that’s where things sometimes go wrong.

Our client – pioneer in customer service – needed a mobile app for both end users and elevator technicians, and a desktop app for the supervisor to manage technician input. For some elevators in Germany, there was also a desire for IoT integration. And so a great collaboration with the local team in Germany emerged, with a view to a solution that:

  • Manages the workflows of technicians from different regions
  • Load time lowers
  • Input of data made simple, with change control in the microcontroller board
  • Quality user validation, authentication and authorization provides

The solution

On IT helped develop this innovative elevator management app, which connects to the microcontroller board via bluetooth and USB. The desktop app is managed by the supervisor, who can use it to distribute tasks between technicians. These can now be easily assigned according to their location, according to the request for maintenance. There is also an integration of IoT in some 100,000 elevators connected by 3G, 4G or WiFi. The supervisor is now notified when an elevator requires maintenance. Talk about convenient automation.
