As a Modern Workplace Engineer, you will help build future-proof digital workplaces within a dynamic MSP environment. With your expertise in Microsoft 365, you take ownership of projects and customer environments, from implementation to optimization. You combine technical depth with customer-oriented advice and thus make an impact at a wide range of organizations on a daily basis.
Responsibilities
Ownership & Customer Focus
- Full responsibility for execution and follow-up of clients and projects within the Modern Workplace Competence Center.
- Act as technical point of contact for clients and ensure clear, transparent communication on scheduling, progress and technical choices.
- Monitor quality and continuity of customer environments according to established technical baselines.
- Identify deviations within the standard architecture and proactively recommend improvements.
- Close collaboration with the Team Lead and fellow engineers to ensure knowledge sharing and quality assurance.
- Daily startup with analysis of any escalations and priorities.
Project-based work
- Perform implementations, migrations and configurations within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Intune).
- Supervise migration projects (e.g. SharePoint migrations) from analysis to delivery.
- Translate technical requirements into concrete solutions with correct documentation.
- Combine onsite implementation days at customers with remote and office work (hybrid work environment).
- Independently manage schedule and proactively pick up optimizations on available capacity.
Management & Optimization
- Management and optimization of complete Microsoft 365 environments.
- Function as L3 escalation point for the service desk and remotely resolve complex technical incidents.
- Automate processes via PowerShell, scripting and policies where possible.
- Actively contribute to innovation, optimization and technology improvements within the Modern Workplace architecture.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Applied Computer Science or equivalent through experience.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Modern Workplace Engineer, System Engineer or IT Consultant within the Microsoft 365 domain.
- Demonstrated experience within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
- Experience with project-based work and customer-facing IT environments.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and the broader Modern Workplace ecosystem.
- Thorough expertise in Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, Azure AD (Entra ID) and Endpoint Management.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.
- Experience with PowerShell and/or automation (preferred).
- Understanding security, policies and governance within Microsoft 365 environments.
