Who are you in our On IT story?
As a Security Engineer, you play a key role in strengthening our customers’ cyber resilience. You will combine in-depth Microsoft 365 and Azure expertise with an analytical, risk-based approach. From security assessments to implementations: you will take ownership, advise at a strategic level and actively help build a strong growing Security Competence Center.
Responsibilities
Security Assessments (Security Snapshots)
Independently perform security analysis on:
- Microsoft 365 & Entra ID security posture
- Conditional Access & MFA
- Endpoint security (Defender, SentinelOne, XDR)
- Identity & Active Directory
- Vulnerability exposure
- Zero Trust maturity
- Backup & recovery security
- Security logging & monitoring
Delivery:
- Report with risk score, impact analysis, priorities (quick wins vs. strategic) and remediation advice
- Presentation of findings to IT and/or management
Technical Validation
Validating technical resilience with an offensive mindset:
- Detecting misconfigurations
- Identifying privilege escalation risks
- Analysis of lateral movement
- Exposure mapping (identity, endpoints, cloud)
- Simulation of realistic, configuration-based attack scenarios
Security Implementations
Support or lead:
- Defender / SentinelOne XDR implementations.
- Conditional Access policies
- Zero Trust pathways
- Endpoint hardening
- Identity security enhancements
- Security baseline onboarding at new customers
Bridge between Sales and Engineering
- Technical validation of opportunities
- Advising on security architecture
- Scope definition (managed service vs. project)
- Support for technical customer calls
- Translate audit results into recurring MSSP services
Qualifications
Experience level
- 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in:
- Security engineering
- Security consultancy
- Microsoft 365 / Azure security
- Or a similar technical security role
- Able to independently perform a full security assessment without intensive supervision
Technical knowledge & expertise
Microsoft Security Stack
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft 365 security
- Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access & MFA
- Microsoft Defender for Endpoint / XDR
- Identity & Active Directory security
- Endpoint hardening
- Security baselines and best practices
Network & Infrastructure
- Basic knowledge of networks and firewalls
- Understanding security logging, monitoring and exposure
Plus points
- Experience with SentinelOne
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools
- Knowledge of NIS2 and/or ISO 27001
- Relevant certifications such as SC-200, AZ-500, SC-100, OSCP or CEH
